Rosie O'Donnell has issued an epic slam on Donald Trump for the presidential candidate's offensive remarks about women.

O'Donnell said Trump - who called her a a pig, dog, slob and disgusting animal during the GOP debate - is a driving force behind the current war on women and that his suggestion that debate moderator Megyn Kelly was hard on him because she was menstruating is only part of a larger problem.

In making her point, O'Donnell referenced the recent actions of Kiran Ghandi, who ran the London Marathon without a tampon. "Why do you think she did that?," O'Donnell asked on SiriusXM's Just Jenny. "When Fox anchors are being accused of being hormonal and ashamed because they have their period...Then that woman [Gandhi] does that. Why do you think she does that stuff? You don't think she did that to say, 'F-- you a-hole?!'"

O'Donnell continued: "I'd like to take my period blood that I no longer have and write, 'You're all a-holes.' I'd like to smear it all over some people's faces."

"There's a war on women that is happening in this country," O'Donnell said. "Starting with basic abortion rights, freedom to choose that we fought for in the '60s and '70s, that women died for, bleeding in back alleys from hanger abortions. Women fought for equality in this country and right now, politically, it's being taken away."

Trump, for his part, stands by his remarks about Kelly. In a new interview with the New York Times, when reporter Maureen Dowd attempted to explain that Kelly had a right to ask about how he speaks about women, Trump shut down the conversation and handed her a printout of an article about how Fox News sided with Trump over Kelly.

Trump also revealed he doesn't view himself as a misogynist and neither do the women in his family. "I have many women executives and they are paid at least as much as the men," Trump bragged. "I find women to be amazing."

However, it doesn't seem Trump can help himself. When speaking about his outlandish attitude, Trump acknowledged, "Sometimes I do go a little bit far," before oddly adding: "Heidi Klum. Sadly, she's no longer a 10."
