Kristen Stewart has been dropped from the planned sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Universal has decided to reimagine the sequel, sources tell THR, scrapping plans for a second movie about Snow White entirely, and instead making a spin-off film focusing on The Huntsman, played by Chris Hemsworth. Screenwriter David Koepp has also been dropped, according to the report.

It's unclear, however, whether Stewart had ever officially signed on to a sequel in the first place. In May, she told E! Online that no formal contracts were in place for a second movie. "We don't have to do it," Stewart said. "There's no pressure. But to be able to expand on this would be awesome."

Regardless, the announcement that a second Snow White film will focus on the Huntsman rather than the title character comes weeks after Stewart publicly acknowledged that she had an affair with her Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, a married father of two, while the movie was being filmed.

It's unknown whether Sanders will be returning for the second film, if there is one, but one source told The Hollywood Reporter he would.

Stewart issued a public apology last month for cheating on her then-boyfriend (and Twilight co-star) Robert Pattinson with Sanders, saying "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob."

Sanders also apologized, saying: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
