‘The Real Housewives’ Franchise Heads To Maryland And Texas

Bravo Media is expanding The Real Housewives franchise, trying again in the Washington, DC. area, and also adding Dallas, TX to its locales.

The Real Housewives Of Potomac premieres Sunday, January 17 at 9 PM. The Washington, D.C. suburb’s rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools and exclusive country clubs tend to keep the area invitation-only. Sprinkled throughout the community are a handful of old-line, wealthy African-American families who have historically broken racial barriers to provide the best life possible for their children. The Real Housewives Of Potomac follows the upscale lives of Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby. The Real Housewives Of D.C. originally premiered on Bravo on August 5, 2010, and aired through October 21, 2010, before it was canceled. Michaele Salahi, who had a role in the show, had gained national attention the year before for allegedly crashing a White House state dinner.

The Real Housewives Of Dallas follows a group of sophisticated southern socialites, as they claw their way to the top of the city’s social scene. It’s slated to premiere later next year.

The Real Housewives franchise continues to do well across platforms. The initial series in the franchise, The Real Housewives Of Orange County, just finished its tenth season, averaging 2.7 million total viewers, making it the most-watched season in series history, according to Nielsen Live+3 data. The franchise also has netted 29 million VOD transactions, been mentioned over 20 million times on Twitter and accounts for 2 of the Top 20 most social reality cable shows (The Real Housewives Of Atlanta and The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills), 2015 to-date, according to the network.

The Real Housewives Of Potomac is produced by True Entertainment with Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Lorraine Haughton-Lawson, Bianca Barnes-Williams, Ashley McFarlin Buie serving as Executive Producers, and Anne Swan as Co-Executive Producer. Andy Cohen also serves as an Executive Producer.

The Real Housewives Of Dallas is produced by Goodbye Pictures with Rich Bye and Andrew Hoegl serving as Executive Producers, and Samantha Billett, John Paparazzo and Adam Karpel as Co-Executive Producers. Andy Cohen also serves as an Executive Producer.
