Ratings: ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Scores Fox’s Highest New-Fall-Drama Number in 7 Years (Updated)

Fox was neither sleepy nor hollow on Monday night.

The Monday night premieres for Fox were good enough to hand the network the top spot in ratings — and its new ”Sleepy Hollow” was not just the highest-rated show in primetime but Fox’s highest-rated fall drama premiere in seven years.

Fox was first in ratings with a 2.8 rating/8 share in the advertiser-desired 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 8.8 million, according to preliminary numbers.

The “Bones” season 9 premiere earned a 2.2/7 and 7.5 million viewers at 8 p.m. At 9, the series premiere of “Sleepy Hollow” received a 3.4/9 and 10.1 million viewers.

For viewership, however, Fox had ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” — and local NFL preemptions — to contend with. ABC was second in ratings with a 2.6/7 and first in total viewers with 13.4 million. The numbers are somewhat inflated due to local NFL pre-emptions.

The premiere of “DWTS” at 8 earned a 3.2/9 and 16.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched program on the night.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.9/5 and in total viewers with 3.4 million. After reruns, the “Under the Dome” season finale received a 2.8/8 and 11.8 million viewers.

NBC and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, each earning a 1.2/3. NBC was fourth in viewers with 3.4 million. Univision was fifth in viewers with 3.2 million.

For NBC, “Million Second Quiz” at 8 earned a 1.1/3 and 3.8 million viewers. At 9 “American Ninja Warrior” received a 1.6/4 and 4.2 million viewers. The “Siberia” season finale at 10 got a 0.8/2 and 2.2 million viewers.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in viewers with 1.2 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 602,000. Following a repeat, “Breaking Pointe” at 9 earned a 0.2/1 and 499,000 viewers.
