RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘Touch’ Finale Down, ‘Duets’ Falls, CBS Wins Night

The end of the first season of Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch was not a high five for Fox. Without the benefit of an American Idol lead-in, the network aired back-to-back episodes of Touch last night, garnering a 1.3/5 at 8 PM and the 9 PM finale a 1.3/4. That was down four tenths from the last original episode of Touch on May 17. Next season, Touch is moving to Fridays. Over on ABC at 8 PM, a two-hour Duets (1.5/5) missed the high notes in its second week, down 12% from the singing show’s premiere episode. Following at 10 PM, Rookie Blue (1.4/4) was flat with last week’s Season 3 premiere. The premiere of the CW’s reality series Breaking Pointe earned a 0.3/1 at 8 PM. The night of repeats on NBC and CBS saw CBS win overall among adults 18-49 and total viewers (7.4 million).

NBC had repeats of The Office at 8 PM and 8:30 PM, both of which earned 0.8/3. America’s Got Talent repeats followed at 9 PM (1.1/3) and 10 PM (1.5/5). CBS featured repeats of Rules Of Engagement (1.8/6), Person Of Interest (1.4/4) and The Mentalist (1.3/4) at 10 PM. The 8 PM Big Bang Theory (2.3/8) rerun proved the night’s most-watched show, bringing in 8.7 million viewers.
