Ratings Rat Race: ‘Masterchef’ Whips Up Ratings Win For Fox

Fox’s Masterchef Wednesday finished first in the demo (1.6 rating), while America’s Got Talent put NBC in the front seat with overall viewers (6.3 million). At 8 PM, CBS’s Big Brother led the pack in the demo (2.0 rating) and viewers (6.2 million). At 8:30 PM BB hung on to its demo lead (1.9 rating) but NBC’s America’s Got Talent rerun took over with viewers of all ages (6.1 million). When BB wrapped for the night on broadcast, Fox’s Masterchef assumed the top spot in the demo (2.1 rating), conceding total viewers to Talent (9 million). Same story at 9:30 PM with slightly different stats: Masterchef 2.3 rating, Talent 9.6 million viewers – making it the night’s most watched program with an average of 9.3 million viewers overall, though it hit a season low in NBC’s key sales demo.

At 10, CBS and NBC tied in the demo (1.1 rating) but CBS’s CSI rerun (6.2 million) outstripped NBC’s Camp (4.3 million) overall. That gap widened at 10:30 and CSI also took over in the demo (1.1 rating) when Camp slipped to a 0.9.
