RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Finder’ Low In Friday Debut, ‘Fringe’ Down

Did this seal the fate of The Finder? In its Friday debut last night, the Bones spinoff pulled in a 1.1/4 among adults 18-49 at 8 PM, down 52% from its most recent airing on Thursday behind American Idol. At 9 PM Fringe (1.0/3) dropped 20% after an encouraging 33% jump last week. (That is a two-tenth drop for Fringe, while its lead-in went down a tenth with the switch from Kitchen Nightmares to The Finder.)

CBS won the night in 18-49 and total viewers, with Undercover Boss (1.8/7, 7.8 million) once again ranking as the top program of the night in the demo and Blue Bloods (1.7/5, 10.8 million) in total viewers. Boss was flat and Blue Bloods up a tenth in 18-49 from last week. Sandwiched between them was CSI: NY (1.6/5, 8.9 million), also flat with last week. ABC’s Shark Tank continues to hold its own, drawing a 1.3/5 with a repeat for a second place at 8 PM against originals on the other Big 4 networks. Primetime: What Would You Do? (1.6/5) was up a tenth from last week, while 20/20 (1.5/5) tumbled 29% from last week’s highly-rated lotto frenzy episode. ABC finished second for the night in 18-49 and total viewers. Following a flat Who Do You Think You Are? (0.8/3), NBC’s Grimm (1.3/4) was up a tenth from last week. Dateline (1.1/3) was down a tenth. The CW aired repeats while Univision logged another No.3 finish among adults 18-49 this week (1.2, behind CBS’ 1.7 and ABC’s 1.4 and ahead of NBC and Fox’s 1.0).
