"Mad Men"'s Season 5 finale on Sunday night was the highest-rated season finale for the series, while the Season 5 premiere of HBO's "True Blood" mostly held steady with last season's premiere.

The "Mad Men" finale on AMC drew a 2.0 household rating and 2.7 million total viewers -- the best performance ever for a season finale of the series. Among the core demographic of adults 25-54, Sunday night's finale drew 1.4 million viewers -- a 13 percent boost over last season's finale.

Overall, season 5 of "Mad Men" was its most-watched season to date, averaging 26 million total viewers -- a 15 percent increase over last season's average.

Meanwhile, at HBO, the vampy drama "True Blood" mostly drew even with the season 4 premiere. Sunday's "True Blood" premiere amassed 6.3 million viewers across two airings -- down marginally from last season's premiere. The initial 9 p.m. airing received 5.2 million total viewers -- again, slightly down from last season's premiere, but slightly up from the season 4 finale.
