Ratings: The Following Tops Monday as The Bachelor Dips; The Carrie Diaries Rises

Fresh off its early Season 2 pick-up, The Following went on to lead the Monday ratings in both the demo and in total audience, besting even The Bachelor.

With CBS sitcoms in repeat mode, Fox’s killer freshman drama drew 8.7 million total viewers and a 2.8 rating, adding a few eyeballs (heh) while holding steady in the demo.

Meanwhile, The Bachelor: The Women Tell All and Thus Confirm Everything You Ever Thought About Each Of ‘Em (Especially Tierra) did 8.43 mil/2.7, dipping 9 percent and two tenths week-to-week. (Women Tell All however was up from its year-ago edition.) ABC notes that Castle posted its best repeat numbers (6.8 mil/1.4) since April 2011.

Elsewhere:

* NBC’s The Biggest Loser (5.9 mil/2.1) hit a five-week high in audience but ticked down in the demo, as did Deception (3.3 mil/1.1).

* Bones opened Fox’s night with 8.2 mil/2.2, dipping 6 percent and a tenth.

* The Carrie Diaries (1.25 mil/0.5) rose 25 percent (to a four-week viewership high) and a tenth, while the terminal 90210 (653K/0.3) added a few viewers.
