Ratings: 'Deadliest Catch' Grabs 2.8M; 'Inside Amy Schumer' Gets Solid Start

"Deadliest Catch" brought in quite the haul on Tuesday night, luring 2.8 million total viewers with its 9 p.m. airing.

However, the Discovery Channel reality offering, which chronicles fishermen's struggles as they navigate the Bering Sea in search of crab, fell short of last week's ninth season premiere of the series. That installment grabbed 3.47 million total viewers.

Even so, according to Discovery, Tuesday night's "Deadliest Catch" was the night's most-watched cable offering.

Discovery's "Backyard Oil," which premiered last week, drew 1.68 million total viewers with its 10 p.m. airing.

In other cable ratings news, a lot of people got "Inside Amy Schumer" for the series' premiere Tuesday night. The premiere of comedienne Schumer's new series drew 1.6 million total viewers with its 10:30 premiere, the majority of them -- 1.2 million -- in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. According to Comedy Central, the "Inside Amy Schumer" premiere was the network's highest-performing premiere of 2013, besting the February premiere of "The Jeselnik Offensive" in total viewers by 14 percent and in the demo by 16 percent.
