Per our sister site Deadline….

* Fresh off her abbreviated shift as Emily Owens, M.D., Gummer is providing backup to Rainn Wilson’s Backstrom on CBS, filling the female lead role of Nicole Carlton, a competent police detective who is a lesbian.

* Rules Of Engagement‘s Bianca Kajlich and Hellcats alum Aly Michalka have joined NBC’s Undateable comedy, playing a divorced single mom who works as a wine rep and an attractive waitress who is endlessly attracted to jerks, respectively.

* Following a table read, NBC’s Holding Patterns — a comedy about the survivors of a plane crash — has released 666 Park Avenue alum Robert Buckley, after it was decided he looked too much like series lead Humphrey Ker.

* Fox is dry-docking Wild Blue, an upstairs/downstairs drama about the men and women working aboard an aircraft carrier, in part because the real-life vessel they wish to film on was not yet available.
