The project from author/journalist Lisa Takeuchi Cullen focuses on Tom (played by Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated.

Davis — who in addition to her many film credits also appeared in HBO’s The Newsroom and the cabler’s miniseries Mildred Pierce — will play Tom’s older sister Packy.

The cast also includes Nestor Serrano (Blue Bloods, Dexter), Jorge Garcia (Lost), Audra McDonald (Private Practice), Emmanuelle Chriqui (The Mentalist, Entourage) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Alcatraz).

Frank Marshall (War Horse, The Bourne Legacy) and Larry Shuman (Devious Maids) will exec-produce the pilot alongside Cullen, with RJ Culter (Nashville) directing.
