Paula Deen Visits 'MasterChef'... on 'I Have a Dream' Speech Anniversary (Video)

Talk about timing.

Paula Deen returned to television for the first time since her N-word scandal in a "MasterChef" episode Wednesday night. As TheBraiser.com noted, it happened to be the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

The episode taped in March, before the situation erupted, an individual with knowledge of the production told TheWrap. It left Fox in a quandary: Deen was too involved in the outcome of the show to simply edit her out. The network opted not to promote her appearance in any way.

Deen admitted in a deposition in May that she used the N-word and once planned a plantation-themed wedding in which African-American men would have served the guests. The lawsuit in which she made the admissions was resolved last week, but not before Deen lost her Food Network gig and millions in endorsements.

Here's some video of the appearance, from Mediate:
