‘Outlander’ Season 2 Casts Bonnie Prince Charlie, Jamie’s Cousin and More

Starz’s “Outlander” is rounding out its cast for season two, which is based on the second book in Diana Gabaldon’s historical, time-traveling series, “Dragonfly in Amber.”

Andrew Gower (“The Village,” “A.D. The Bible Continues”) has been cast as Prince Charles Edward Stuart in the new season, Variety has confirmed. When Charles Stuart isn’t carousing with his Jacobite supporters, the young heir to the exiled Catholic royal dynasty is plotting his return to the throne. An unlikely leader with an unabashed taste for alcohol and women, Prince Charles is hell-bent on glory — no matter what the cost.

Romann Berrux (“Détectives”) has been cast as Fergus, a young French pickpocket who is fiercely loyal to the Frasers and would gladly lay down his life to protect them.

Rosie Day (“The Seasoning House”) has been cast as Mary Hawkins, a sweet and innocent young Englishwoman with a slight nervous stammer. The daughter of a minor baronet and niece of Silas Hawkins, Mary is a pawn in the power plays of her elders. Entertainment Weekly first broke the news of Day’s casting.

Dominique Piñon will play Master Raymond, a kindly apothecary with a great deal of knowledge regarding secret matters, both political and occult. Though generally viewed with suspicion by his contemporaries, Master Raymond forms a special bond with Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

Robert Cavanah (“Wuthering Heights”) has been cast as Jared, Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) Scottish cousin who lives in Paris, France, as Access Hollywood first reported. Jared is a successful wine merchant (and strong Jacobite). Jamie and Claire will live in his mansion in Paris in season two, and manage his business while he travels to the West Indies.

Stanley Weber (“Borgia”) has been cast as Le Comte St. Germain, a wine merchant and member of the French Court. He has a reputation for brutality and loves dabbling in the occult. E!Online broke Weber’s casting.

“Outlander” returns for its second season in 2016 on Starz.
