Warning: The following article contains spoilers about the women's basketball games on Saturday, as well as other Olympic results.
The U.S. women's basketball team won its fifth straight Olympic gold medal Saturday, defeating France 86-50. Star player Candace Parker scored 21 points. Earlier in the day, Australia defeated Russia 83-74 to win the bronze medal.
The U.S. men's basketball team will vie for the gold on Sunday against Spain.
In other Olympic news, the American women's volleyball team didn't fare as well against Brazil, losing 3-1 earlier on Saturday. It was a rematch of the 2008 Beijing final, which Brazil also won.
Additionally, Jamaica took gold and set a new world record in the men's relay final, propelled by running juggernaut Usain Bolt (in what could possibly be his final Olympics appearance) and Yohan Blake. The team set a new world record, finishing in 36.84 seconds, and the United States matched the previous record and set a national record by finishing in 37.04 for the silver. Trinidad and Tobago beat France for the bronze.
