Lance Bass is addressing the big rumor that 'N Sync may be reuniting at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, Aug. 25 -- and not necessarily denying it. The 34-year-old performer spoke out about the reunion buzz during his SiriusXM show "Dirty Pop with Lance Bass" on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

"This morning I woke up to a lot of rumors flying [around] that the 'N Sync reunion is happening after eleven years at the VMAs this Sunday. Well, let me tell you how this all came about. Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson [Video] Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing," he said. "I knew these rumors were going to fly."

The radio host explained a recent photo he shared on Instagram during a recent trip with Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick to see Timberlake's show at the Sun Life Stadium on Aug. 16 probably had something to do with the initial buzz too.

The New York Post's Page Six first reported Tuesday that the "Suit & Tie" singer would be joined on stage at the Brooklyn's Barclays Center with his old bandmates, which started quite the frenzy on social media. An MTV source also told Us Weekly that producers are "trying to make it happen," and plans are "coming together."

"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media…[and] how many people are supporting'N Sync," Bass added. "It's so nice to see because when we ended things [over] ten years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter [fan base]."
