MTV Greenlights ‘The Alectrix’ For June Premiere, ‘South Of Heaven’ For Fall

MTV Picks Up Comedy Pilots ‘Happyland’ & ‘Faking It’ To Series

MTV has announced two new series focusing on young women in the process of following their heart’s desire, The Alectrix and South Of Heaven (working title). The Alectrix, which debuts on June 4 at 11 PM, follows an all-girl pop-music group seeking a fresh start under the guidance of music manager Joe Simpson. The six-episode series follows the group’s leader Heather Naylor as she and her band mates strive for their big break in the music industry and finally fulfill their dreams of superstardom. The Alectrix is Executive Produced by Naylor and Simpson. Gary Auerbach, Julie Auerbach and Rob Cornick Executive Produce for Go Go Luckey Entertainment. Lesley Goldman Executive Produces for MTV and Tamar Zohar is the Executive in Charge of Production. South Of Heaven (working title) is a new half-hour docu-series following the lives of a group of fun loving girlfriends at the best little honky tonk bar in Texas who are working to make their dreams a reality. It’s set for the fall. South Of Heaven is Executive Produced by Ross Breitenbach and 20 West. Concept by Andy Meyer. The series is Executive Produced by Shannon Fitzgerald, Tiffany Lea Williams and Lesley Goldman for MTV. Tammy Zohar and Brittany Lutz are the Executives in Charge of Production.
