Matt Damon hijacks 'Jimmy Kimmel Live': The best zingers from his show takeover
For 10 years, the Matt Damon was the brunt of Jimmy Kimmel's end-of-show joke -- that the host had run out of time to bring him on.
To get even, Damon "kidnapped" Kimmel, bound him to a chair, and then forced the host to watch as he took over the show. He even renamed it "Jimmy Kimmel Sucks."
"As an audience, is it weird to see a person with actual talent host this show?" he asked as the crowd roared.
Kimmel had to watch from the back of the stage as Damon brought on one A-list star after another. Andy Garcia replaced Guillermo as the sidekick.
Sheryl Crow took over as band leader.
The evening's glittering guests included Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, and Demi Moore.
Even Kimmel's parents called Damon "the son we always wanted."
Damon also gave Kimmel's ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman, with whom he made the viral video "I'm F------ Matt Damon," a chance to address the host. "No, I'm good," she declined.
Only one celebrity seemed to be on Team Kimmel.
"[Kimmel is] funny, he's smart, he's good to his family, he's an excellent lover … wait, what's going on here? I didn't write any of this!" Damon said, then spied his old Boston pal Ben Affleck holding up the cue cards. Affleck and Kimmel got (very) close filming "I'm F------ Ben Affleck" as a follow-up to the Damon/Silverman video.
"Oh, come on man!" Damon cried, as the "Argo" director shrugged.
