‘Live!’ Officially Unveils Michael Strahan As Co-Host And New Name
Kelly Ripa this morning officially introduced NFL star and Fox NFL Sunday broadcaster Michael Strahan as her new co-host on Live! With Kelly. The talk show has been renamed Live! With Kelly And Michael.

Strahan’s hire comes after nine months of auditions, following the November 2011 departure of original co-host Regis Philbin. Over the last two years, Strahan was a guest co-host of Live! 20 times. “As a guest co-host, Michael’s chemistry with Kelly was off the charts, and continued to grow each time he visited the show,” said Live! executive producer Michael Gelman. Strahan will now commute weekly between New York, where Live! is filmed, and Los Angeles, where Fox NFL Sunday originates. Live! With Kelly And Michael is distributed in national syndication by Disney-ABC Domestic Television and produced by WABC-TV.
