The lead singer and cofounder of Christian metal band As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis, has been arrested by San Diego County police on Tuesday, for allegedly attempting to arrange the murder of his estranged wife, ABC News reports.
Lambesis, 32, was busted as part of a sting operation after he solicited an undercover detective to kill his wife, Meggan Lambesis. Meggan filed for divorce in September 2012.
Lambesis was charged with three federal accounts: soliciting another person to commit murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime. He will be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
Californian band As I Lay Dying was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 on the strength of their bestselling record An Ocean Between Us.
