Lauren Graham to Write CW Project with Ellen DeGeneres Producing
Hourlong drama, hailing from DeGeneres’s A Very Good Production in association with Warner Bros. TV, centers on a young woman with six months left on her three-year plan to make it as actress in New York City. Graham will pen the pilot and exec produce alongside Degeneres and Jeff Kleeman.
Novel is based on Graham’s experience breaking into the Gotham acting scene in the ’90s, and became a New York Times best seller.
CW project marks Graham’s first time writing for the small screen. The “Gilmore Girls” alum logged a producer credit on the Amy Sherman-Palladino dramedy during its final season, but her showbiz resume is primarily comprised of on-screen gigs. Graham has played Sarah Braverman on NBC’s “Parenthood” since the show’s launch in 2010.
Graham is currently penning a followup novel to “Someday, Someday, Maybe.”
