'Kyle XY' Star Matt Dallas Comes Out as Gay with Engagement Announcement
Matt Dallas is heading back to ABC Family.
The actor who starred on the youth-skewing network's sci-fi family drama Kyle XY has joined the cast of Baby Daddy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
Jean-Luc Bilodeau stars as Ben, a twentysomething who navigating the world of being a single parent with the help of his mother Bonnie (Melissa Peterman), brother Danny (Derek Theler) and his two close friends Riley (Chelsea Kane) and Tucker (Tahj Mowry).
Dallas will reunite with his former Kyle XY co-star Bilodeau and play the hardworking Fitch Douglas, the typical perfect guy who's rugged but sensitive, dedicated but laid back and sets a high bar. He instantly sweeps Riley off her feet and unwittingly evokes Ben's wrath after the single dad was just starting to develop feelings for her.
He'll recur in at least three episodes of the second season, which begins production next week.
Dallas is best known for playing Kyle, the belly-button-free character, on three seasons of Kyle XY. Repped by Innovative, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman, his credits also include Eastwick and Entourage. Bilodeau co-starred on the series as Kyle's younger brother.
ABC Family in August renewed Baby Daddy -- which launched as the top comedy series in the network's history -- slotting a spring 2013 return for the comedy.
