Katherine Webb, girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, made headlines when she was spotted by ESPN's Brent Musberger at the National Championship game earlier this year, and now she's being featured in the pages of the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
"It's so surreal, just to be here in this moment. I'm living out my dream," Katherine told Access Hollywood on Tuesday night at New York City's Crimson, which hosted the kickoff party for the issue. "I'm just taking it day by day and hopefully I'll have the time to soak it all [up] eventually. But everything's happened so fast in my life and I couldn't be more blessed."
Beyond Sports Illustrated, Katherine is also a part of the cast of ABC's reality show, "Splash," which features celebrities competing in the sport of diving.
"I never thought I'd do something like that, but at the same time, I had said before that I would probably move back home to Alabama and be with my family and A.J., but at the same time, I realized that I needed to make a living for myself as well as give back to my family and so I'm taking advantage of the opportunities that have been given to me," Katherine said of joining the show's cast. "I thought it would be such a fun idea, crazy, to learn how to dive from a high dive."
So far, though, the diving thing hasn't gone all that well, Katherine told Access.
"I think I face planted the other day," she laughed. "I was trying to flip off the dive and I ended up face planting and I come out of the water and I'm stinging all over. But hopefully nothing like that will ever happen again, so we'll see."
"Splash" premieres March 19 at 8 ET/PT on ABC.
