‘Jurassic World’ Posts Best Non-Opening Tuesday Record As Hits Keep Comin’

More T-Rex records. Universal’s Jurassic World cashed in an estimated $24.3M yesterday, making it the top Tuesday haul ever outside of those films that actually bowed on Tuesday. JW‘s Tuesday beats Warner Bros. Dark Knight‘s Tuesday which made $20.868M on July 22, 2008. Total cume to date through five days for JW: $258.45M.

In regards to those Tuesdays in which films bowed, the top two recordholders are 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man with $35M and 2007’s Transformers which grossed $27.9M. So, JW ranks third among all Tuesdays.

The lizard gang has a lock on number one this weekend at the box office, toppling Disney-Pixar’s Inside Out and Open Road’s Dope. Most forecasts are seeing JW with a $90M-$100M second frame, however, conservative estimates are as low as $80M. On Fandango’s Fanticipation meter for this coming weekend, JW is rallying over Inside Out in second place and Spy in third. Good news for Inside Out: it’s Fandango’s top Disney-Pixar original film in terms of pre-sales beating Brave, Up and WALL-E. In addition, hands down, it’s Fandango’s top animated pre-seller to date this year, outstripping pre-sales for Home and The SpongeBob Movie.
