Joy Behar Rips Into Elisabeth Hasselbeck for ‘Hate-Filled Remark’ About Rosie O'Donnell (Video)

Good to see that Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck haven't lost any of that old spark.

The former “View” co-host took her former colleague to task during a Wednesday night appearance on CNN for comments Hasselbeck made that morning about Rosie O'Donnell, who is rumored to be returning to the show after being away for seven years.

“Here in comes to ‘The View’ the very woman who spit in the face of our military,” Hasselbeck charged, “spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control, ready to regain a seat at the table.”

“I thought that was really kind of below-the-belt, to say she spits in the face of the military,” Behar fired. ”I would like Elisabeth to explain herself,” Behar, who called O'Donnell “edgy” earlier in the segment, said. “What does she mean by that? And isn't it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person?”

Behar noted that O'Donnell's son — one of her many children, as Behar noted — is a student at military academy The Citadel, which made charging Rosie with hating the military “a dangerous thing to say.”

“I think it's a hate-filled remark,” Behar added. “And she should explain it.”
