Jason Lee to Star in CBS Detective Drama 'Second Sight'

Jason Lee is eyeing a new gig with CBS's "Second Sight" pilot.

The former "My Name Is Earl" star will lead the detective drama, which hails from "Homeland" executive producer Michael Cuesta.

Based on the British series of the same name by Paula Milne, the gothic psychological thriller centers on a detective who is suddenly afflicted with an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations reflective of his subconscious.

Cuesta is writing, directing and executive producing the pilot, with Gerald Cuesta ("L.I.E.") also writing and executive producing. Milne will serve as an executive producer on the CBS Studios project.

While perhaps best known on television as the titular redneck karma restorer on he Fox sitcom "My Name Is Earl," he also starred as a lawman on TNT's "Memphis Beat." It was canceled after two seasons in 2011.
