It's All Good Between 'Real Housewives' Melissa and NeNe, But What About Teresa?
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" came back with a natural disaster this seson. Hurricane Sandy is the new b---- in town and trauma didn't inspire Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice to make peace. Things are bad between the sisters-in-law, as in can't text-about-a-playdate-for-the-princesses-without-bringing-the-nasty.
We talked to Gorga about the battles of Season 5 as well as the battles unfolding recently in the press, namely, Round 457 of Giudice versus Gorga, wherein Giudice told Andy Cohen that Gorga wrote her song "On Display" about Giudice.
"New Normal" actress and "Housewife of Atlanta" NeNe Leakes got in on the action too, telling Andy that Gorga should "take a seat" and let the veteran housewives dominate. Watch here, if you're brave:
Gorga says she and her friend "Housewife of Beverly Hills" Brandi Glanville exchanged some omigod texts about the NeNe sitdown. But fortunately, it's pretty much all bile under the bridge. "I did text NeNe after I saw that, to be honest with you," Gorga confided. "And I said, 'Hey, what's up?' And she was like 'Hey, you know I love you.' So it's fine. She was sticking up for the veterans and I heard she's got something going on with her family, so maybe she felt what Teresa felt. Who knows? I love NeNe. I was like, what are you doing to me? And she was like, 'I love you, you know I love you.' I can't say anything bad about her. NeNe and I have spent weekends together and are on great terms."
Gorga says they didn't talk about "The New Normal" being canceled. "She is very lucky to have had that opportunity," Gorga said. "And now she's gonna have [her own] spinoff on Bravo. NeNe's done really well with capitalizing on this show."
Here's the rest of our gabbing with Gorga:
You just celebrated a birthday with Teresa.
Yes, I did. It was good. We went to dinner at STK. We're trying really hard to put everything in the past and let go. It wasn't easy to get here. You'll see a lot of that in Season 5, but we're here now. We are family. She invited us to go so we said, "Of course."
Did you talk about "On Display"?
She must really think that's true, and I say it when I'm asked and I'll say it to her face: It's not true. And it's crazy to think that. At the end of the day, this is not just a girlfriend. This is my husband's only sister. This is not a girlfriend where I can say, "Take a hike. You're annoying. Get out of here." So at the end of the day you have to let a lot more slide than you would if this was only your girlfriend. It is what it is. Bravo would have a major problem if she was my friend. I would be like, "Sorry guys, I'm not even going near this person."
