Gurin Co. Teams With Fuji TV For Formats

Phil Gurin‘s The Gurin Co. has formed a joint creative venture with Japan’s Fuji TV to create new formats and programming for the international TV marketplace. The primary focus will be on unscripted programming and game shows. The first two projects under the deal are Objects Of Desire, which combines elements of a dating-game show with the over-the-top elements of an elaborate Japanese game show, and League Of Extraordinary Teams, a studio game featuring teams from around the nation competing for a national championship. The members of these teams will possess special skills, which will be tested in outrageous challenges set up in cities across America.

Unscripted production outlet The Gurin Co.’s slate includes Shark Tank, The Singing Bee and Oh Sit!, while commercial broadcaster and production outlet Fuji TV’s formats include Hole In The Wall that aired on Fox and Cartoon Network in the U.S.; Iron Chef that aired on Food Network in the U.S.; and Total Blackout, co-developed with FremantleMedia and broadcast in 17 countries including Syfy in the U.S.
