Larenz Tate Cast In NBC’s Craig Robinson Pilot, Greg Grunberg Joins ABC’s ‘Doubt’

Larenz Tate will co-star opposite Craig Robinson in NBC’s single-camera starring Robinson and executive produced by Greg Daniels and Owen Ellickson, who wrote the script. The untitled project centers on talented musician Craig (Robinson) with rough edges who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school, where he encounters teacher politics and the temptations of single moms. Tate, repped by APA, Brillstein Entertainment and John Meigs, will play Robinson’s brother, Kevin, who is also a partner in their band, The Filthy Gentlemen. A talented and charismatic lady-killer, he’s never held a regular job and hasn’t woken up before 11 AM. He recently recurred on Showtime’s House of Lies as Marty’s (Don Cheadle) brother Malcolm.

Heroes alum Greg Grunberg has been cast in Doubt, ABC’s legal drama written and executive produced by David Shore. The project, from Sony TV, centers on Vincent, a former cop who’s now a cunning but charming low-rent lawyer who uses his street smarts to work the system for his clients while battling his own demons and wooing his ex-wife. Grunberg will play Mark, Vince’s caring and always well-meaning older brother who is developmentally disabled as a result of a childhood accident, but high-functioning. He works at Vince’s office as the receptionist and believes that his brother can save the world. Grunberg has a relationship with Sony — he has been recurring on the studio’s Lifetime drama The Client List and toplined Sony’s A&E pilot Big Mike.
