Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" shot to the top of the Billboard chart after Glee covered it, but one person is definitely not a fan of the show's rendition: Goyte himself.

"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box," he told the Sunday Mail.

Gotye (real name: Wally de Backer) also told the Herald Sun: It made it sound dinky and wrong."

Darren Criss and guest star Matt Bomer performed "Somebody That I Used to Know" in the April 10 episode. Coupled with Gotye's appearance on Saturday Night Live the following weekend, the song rose to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, making Gotye the fourth Australian artist to have a No. 1 song.
