Google Developing Video Game Console
Watch out, Microsoft! Google may be getting in on the video game business.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google is developing a video game console powered by its Android operating system to compete with products Apple may release in the future, while beefing up its hardware offerings.

The tech giant has grown from a search engine to a multinational corporation specializing in internet-related services and products. Over the last few years, the company began manufacturing hardware including smartphones, a Google TV, tablets and computers.
Although the company hopes to beat Apple to the punch by releasing a video game console first, Google won't be the first to produce one that uses the Android operating system. Just this week, a startup called Ouya Inc. began selling an Android-based console and game controller for $99.
Later this year, Sony will release its next generation Playstation console, the PS4, which costs $399 -- a hundred bucks less than Microsoft's Xbox One.
Google has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.
