'Fringe' Producer in Talks for Futuristic Cop Drama for Fox

"Fringe" executive producer J.H. Wyman, pictured below, is finalizing talks for a new project for Fox that will team him once again with "Fringe" creator J.J. Abrams, an individual with knowledge of the impending deal told TheWrap.

The as-yet-untitled project, which will likely receive a pilot deal with a production commitment, is described as an "action-packed buddy cop show, set in the near future, when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids."

The project comes via Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Wyman will write and executive-produce, with Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions partner Bryan Burk also executive-producing. Kathy Lingg ("Person of Interest," "Fringe") will co-executive produce.

Fox would not confirm the negotiations.
