Fox News Executive Brian Lewis Breaks Silence on Axing
Ousted Fox executive vice president of corporate communications and Roger Ailes' senior advisor Brian Lewis has broken his silence about his termination.
Lewis' comments to Mediabistro were measured, and he would not discuss the "financial irregularities" Fox blamed for his dismissal for legal reasons, but he had good things to say about his former boss:
"There has been rampant speculation surrounding my departure from Fox that I am not addressing at this time. I will say it has been an honor and privilege to work for Roger Ailes the past 20 years and I wish nothing but the best for him and the great people at Fox News."

Asked for his reaction to the stories circulating about his firing, Lewis simply said "Some stories are ludicrous, but there is one story that is particularly ludicrous."
Lewis was fired on July 25 but his ouster was only discovered on Tuesday. The longtime Fox man, who joined Fox News in 1996, rose through the ranks to become Ailes' trusted senior advisor.
Fox told TheWrap that Lewis was "terminated for cause" after "an extensive internal investigation."
"Issues relating to financial irregularities, as well as for multiple, material and significant breaches of his employment contract" were blamed for Lewis' downfall.
