Fox Buys Comedy from 'Parks and Recreation' Producers Mike Schur, Dan Goor
'Parks and Recreation's' Michael Schur Re-Ups at Universal TV
Fox is jumping into the Mike Schur business.
The Parks and Recreation co-creator, along with Parks and Rec producer Dan Goor, has nabbed a put pilot commitment for his single camera comedy about a diverse group of detectives in a precinct at the very edge of New York City. The half-hour project, which found itself at the center of a bidding war, hails from Universal Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.
The news comes mere hours after Schur, a former Saturday Night Live writer, inked a new two-year overall deal at Universal TV, which is actively selling fare inside and outside of NBC. Schur is also a co-executive producer on The Office, which announced this season would be its last during a conference call earlier today.
Co-creators Schur and Goor, previously known for his work as a writer on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will write and executive produce the comedy. Three Arts's David Miner, who serves as an EP on Parks and Rec and 30 Rock, will join the pair as an executive producer.
Schur is repped by UTA and 3 Arts; Goor is repped by UTA.
