‘The Fosters’ Renewed For Season 4 By ABC Family

ABC Family has ordered a fourth season of The Fosters ahead of the blended-family drama series’ Season 3 winter premiere on January 25, when ABCF will be known as Freeform.

“We have so many more stories to tell about The Fosters family,” said ABC Family EVP Karey Burke. “These incredible characters have come into our lives and touched so many – from Stef and Lena’s wedding to the adoptions of Callie and Jude.”

being raised by two moms. Stef Adams Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her wife, Lena Adams Foster, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon; their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus; and newly adopted siblings Jude, and his half-sister, Callie.

During its recent summer run, The Fosters ranked as cable TV’s No. 1 scripted series in the Monday 8 PM time period in total viewers (2.1 million) as well as adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, and was the No. 3 most tweeted basic cable drama series (399,000 tweets).

The Fosters is executive-produced by Lopez and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, who also serve as executive producers and writers, along with Joanna Johnson. The series stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez. Greg Gugliotta, Elaine Goldsmith Thomas and Benny Medina also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Nuyorican Productions in association with ABC Family.
