Former MTV Personality Kennedy To Join Fox Business Network In Primetime

Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, the one-time MTV personality known better by her middle name, will join the Fox Business Network primetime lineup starting Monday, December 9, the 21st Century Fox-owned cable outlet said Tuesday.

Kennedy will host “The Independents,” set to air at 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and on Fridays, the network said. The show will “feature a roundtable discussion on the news of the day with a special emphasis on the protection of economic and civil liberties,” the network said in an announcement. , Kennedy will be joined by co-hosts, Matt Welch of Reason magazine and Kmele Foster of America’s Future Foundation, along with a rotating panel of guests.

“The Independents” will replace reruns of “The Willis Report, which airs first-run episodes at 6 p.m. ”Stossel,” hosted by John Stossel, will continue to appear on FBC at 9 p.m. eastern on Thursdays.

Kennedy joined FBN as a contributor and special correspondent to “Stossel” in 2012. She is the author of two books: “he Kennedy Chronicles: The Golden Age of MTV Through Rose-Colored Glasses” and “Hey Ladies! Tales and Tips for Curious Girls”. She is also the host of a morning program on KYSR, a Los Angeles radio station,and is a contributor to Reason.com. a

Kennedy, who graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and got her start in TV as an MTV video jockey in 1992.
