Rather, the CW sophomore plans to keep the sinister speedster’s identity under wraps for the time being. And to that end, Tony Todd will lend his famous voice to the character, regardless of who’s eventually revealed to be inside the speed suit.

“With the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different,” EP Andrew Kreisberg told our sister site Variety, the first to report on Todd’s casting.

Todd’s previous voice work includes another DC Comics baddie, Darkseid (in the LEGO DC Super Heroes series), while his on-camera credits include Candyman, Final Destination, 24, Chuck, The Young and the Restless and Stargate SG-1.

Season 2 of The Flash gets up and running Tuesday, Oct. 6.
