The series, which premieres Thursday, Jan. 31 at 10/9c following the one-hour series finale of 30 Rock, centers on Dr. Jason Cole (Rescue Me‘s Steven Pasquale), a brilliant surgeon who struggles to contain “Ian,” a dangerous alter ego who threatens to wreak havoc on the good doc’s personal and professional lives.

Cromwell will appear in at least three episodes as “Jason’s mentor,” reveals exec producer David Schulner, “who may or may not have his best interests at heart.”
