Exclusive: Hannibal Gobbles Up Molly Shannon

Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon has nabbed a top-secret guest role in NBC’s upcoming drama Hannibal, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Though details on the funny lady’s visit to cannibal-land are sparse, we can report that the guest spot is for one episode with the potential to recur.

The former Not Ready for Primetime Player has been very busy as of late. She’s recently had stints on Web Therapy, Up All Night and The Middle, and she landed a recurring role on the upcoming second season of HBO’s Enlightened. She also currently can be heard voicing Wanda the werewolf in the big screen animated flick Hotel Transylvania.

Like Hannibal‘s Caroline Dhavernas, Chelan Simons and Ellen Greene, Shannon has previously worked with showrunner Bryan Fuller: She played candy emporium owner Dilly Balsam in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies.
