Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul (a winner in 2010 and 2012, but inelligible in 2011) will try to make it a hat trick, while 2011 champ Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) hopes the game of “pass the Emmy back and forth” continues. The only other actor in the race who was also nominated in 2012 is Downton Abbey‘s Jim Carter.

The three newcomers to the Supporting Actor in a Drama wars are Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) and Paul’s colleague Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad). (Banks, incidentally, also scored a nod in this category back in 1989, when he starred on Wiseguy.)
