Derek Hough Talks Jealous Dancing With The Stars Husbands & Chemistry With Kellie Pickler
Derek Hough -- Access Hollywood
Derek Hough and Kellie Pickler oozed chemistry while paired for "Dancing with the Stars" Season 16.
The country singer then asked Derek to dance with her in her music video for "Someone Somewhere Tonight" - an offer he says he couldn't resist.
"I adore [Kellie]," Derek, who is hosting ABC's new special, "Family Dance Off," told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday's Access Hollywood Live . "She's a special, special girl."
The "DWTS" Season 16 champs are seen in a romantic dance in the whimsical video and Derek said Kellie's husband, Kyle Jacobs, was not present on set during filming to keep their sexiness in check!
"He wasn't there, but I absolutely love Kyle," Derek said.
The dancer admitted he has dealt with his fair share of jealous partners during his 11 seasons on the ABC reality hit, but was quick to praise Kellie's husband.
"I'm not gonna lie - there are some people, or men or husbands or boyfriends, that come on there who are a little bit like, 'Oooh - you're doing the rumba with my wife or girlfriend,' but [Kyle] was completely and amazing and just super comfortable and confident in who he is."
Billy suggested Derek is trustworthy and not "dangerous" - but the four-time mirror ball champ said he's riskier than he may seem.
"There's a lot of danger - don't tell anybody, especially my producers - but I'm jumping out of planes, wakeboarding, jumping off cliffs, mountain climbing," he said, laughing.
As the host of the upcoming one-hour special feature "Family Dance Off," Derek got to dance with five families who are competing for a grand prize of $10,000.
"Each family is so different," he said of the new gig, adding that viewers will even be treated to a "twerking grandma." "It's a really fun show."
"Family Dance Off" airs Sunday at 8 PM on ABC.
"Dancing with the Stars" Season 17 premieres on September 16.
