D23 Expo Lines up Disney Channel Stars, ‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel’

Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior have rallied their stars to appear at Disney’s version of Comic-Con in August.

The three-day schedule for the D23 Expo, set to be held at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, Calif.,. Aug 9-11, will include musical performances by Hollywood Records’ Bridgit Mendler (Disney Channel’s “Good Luck Charlie”) and R5 (featuring Ross Lynch from Disney Channel’s “Teen Beach Movie” and “Austin & Ally”); a fan dance with stars from the Disney Channel Original Movie “Teen Beach Movie,” and a special screening of animated Mickey Mouse shorts that have never been screened.

Disney Channel’s showcase will kick off Aug. 9 with a presentation for the one-hour crossover special “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel,” featuring Phineas, Ferb, Agent P, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor and Iron Man. Full special, which marks the first animated television crossover of Marvel and Disney properties, will not screen at D23, however.

On Aug. 10, the teen bikers and surfers from “Teen Beach Movie” will unite on the dance floor of the Disney Channel booth for a “Surf Crazy” with stars from the film that bows July 19.

On hand to sign autographs will be Disney Channel stars including “Crash & Bernstein’s” Cole Jensen and Tim Lagasse; “Lab Rats’” Tyrel Jackson Williams and Billy Unger; “Kickin’ It’s” Jason Earles, Leo Howard and Olivia Holt; “A.N.T. Farm’s” Jake Short and Sierra McCormick; “Shake It Up’s” Zendaya and Roshon Fegan; “Dog With A Blog’s” G Hannelius and Blake Michael; “Jessie’s” Skai Jackson and Cameron Boyce; and “Good Luck Charlie’s” Bridgit Mendler and Jason Dolley.

Disney Junior viewers will also be able to meet characters from “Sofia the First,” “Doc McStuffins” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” and view new Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts.

Radio Disney will broadcast from the event each day.

Designed to be an ultimate event for Disney fans, the D23 Expo showcases presentations from each division at the company from films to consumer products. Event is held every other year. San Diego’s Comic-Con is in July.
