A.D. Miles Set As Head Writer Of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’

EXCLUSIVE: When he makes the transition to The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon will have his key lieutenant A.D. Miles by his side. Miles, who has served as head writer of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon since the show’s 2009 launch, has closed a deal to work in the same capacity on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which is set to premiere on February 17. Miles, an actor-comedian who worked the New York comedy scene in the 1990s and starred on Comedy Central’s Dog Bites Man, had no talk show experience when he was hired as Late Night With Jimmy Fallon‘s first head writer. He helped establish the show’s brand of elaborate parodies and high energy bits. In addition to his writing duties, Miles appears in some of the late-night show’s signature comedy sketches, including The Ragtime Gals: Barbershop Quartet and TV parodies Joking Bad, Downton Sixbey and Real Housewives Of Late Night. He also led the Late Night writing team to a 2011 Emmy nomination. Miles’ deal provides continuity for Tonight Show, which recently tapped Josh Lieb as producer, replacing veteran Late Night With Jimmy Fallon writer Amy Ozols. Lorne Michaels executive produces. Miles is with CAA and Principato-Young Entertainment.
