Daniels will exec-produce with Office supervising producer Owen Ellickson penning the script about a talented musician (played by Robinson) with rough edges who has to adjust to his new gig as a music teacher in a big city middle school. But that’s easier said than done when coming up against teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.

Robinson will also serve as a producer on the project.

The Office is currently airing its ninth and final season. Castmate Rainn Wilson is also looking to the future with a backdoor pilot for a Dwight-centric spin-off, titled The Farm, airing later this fall on the NBC sitcom.
