CBS’ ‘Big Brother’ Renewed For Season 16

CBS’ summer staple Big Brother will return next year for a 16th cycle. Additionally, live, late-night companion show Big Brother: After Dark, which moved from Showtime to new CBS sibling TVGN this summer, has been renewed for another installment on the basic cable network (form. TV Guide Network.) Big Brother, which recently marked its 500th episode, is averaging 7.29 million viewers and 2.6 ratings in adults 18-49 this summer. Despite impact from the prolonged blackout on Time Warner Cable, the reality veteran is up +11% in viewers and +8% in adults 18-49 vs. last summer. The current 15th season of Big Brother will conclude with a 90-minute finale next Wednesday at 9:30 PM, immediately following the season premiere of another long-running CBS reality series, Survivor. Big Brother is executive produced by Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol USA.
