Casting News: Hawaii Five-0 Summons Aquaman, Southland Gets a Big Shaq and More
TV’s erstwhile Aquaman, Alan Ritchson, is heading to Hawaii Five-0 — where it appears he’ll stay on dry land.
Per Zap2It, the Smallville and Blue Mountain State alum will guest-star on the CBS procedural as a Navy SEAL who was McGarrett’s best buddy in the military. He’ll thus appear in some illuminating flashbacks to training and battle sequences.
Ritchson’s credits also include TV’s 90210 and CSI: Miami, and the upcoming film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
* Onetime NBA superstar and Southland superfan Shaquille O’Neal has scored a guest spot on TNT’s cop drama as a police officer who knows Cooper (played by Michael Cudlitz) from the academy, Access Hollywood reports.
* Mikaela Hoover, who has played one of Charlie’s Sheen’s Anger Management conquests, next will hang with Charlie Harper’s replacement, Walden (played by Ashton Kutcher), on Two and a Half Men. Hoover’s credits also include appearances on Happy Endings, as Dave’s too-young rebound girl.
* Aussie actor Tom Green (Home & Away, of course) has landed the male lead in NBC’s Meatballs-like summer series Camp, Deadline reports. He will play Kip, a loner who likes indie rock and documentary films and hates people.
