Cartoon Network Renews ‘Adventure Time,’ ‘Uncle Grandpa,’ 3 Others
Cartoon Network has renewed five of its original series, “Adventure Time,” “Regular Show,” “Uncle Grandpa,” “Steven Universe” and “Clarence,” the Time Warner-owned cable network said Tuesday.
Th cable network said it struck orders for the eighth seasons of both “Adventure Time” and “Regular Show”; the third seasons of both “Uncle Grandpa” and “Steven Universe”; and the second season of “Clarence.” All the programs originated with the network’s Shorts Program, which helps identify new talent.
In “Adventure Time,” unlikely heroes Finn and Jake traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants. The series was created by Pendleton Ward and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios.
“Regular Show” features Mordecai, a six-foot-tall blue jay, and Rigby, a hyperactive raccoon, who spend their days trying to entertain themselves by any means necessary. The series was created by JG Quintel and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios.
“Steven Universe” tells the story of three magical defenders of the planet….and Steven. He joins Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl on their magical adventures. The series is created by Rebecca Sugar.
“Uncle Grandpa” was created by Pete Browngardt and produced at Cartoon Network Studios. Its third season is slated for 2016. “Clarence” is a spirited boy who sees the best in all things and wants to try everything.
