'The Carrie Diaries' Gets Its Young Samantha Jones in Season 2

Carrie Bradshaw will meet Samantha Jones in the new season of the CW's "The Carrie Diaries," Warner Bros. said on Saturday.

Newcomer Lindsey Gort (TV's "Vegas," the upcoming "2 Guns") will join as a series regular, playing the younger version of "Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall.

The addition of the character was expected; in the Season 1 finale, Bradshaw finds herself alone in New York for a summer writing program but loses her money and the address of the program. Calling the only number she has – the cousin of her friend Donna LaDonna, she asks, "Hellois this Samantha Jones?"

"Through a surprising connection, our young Carrie Bradshaw will meet meet one of the most important people in her life," Warner's said in a release. It called Early Samantha "a ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the Panhandle of Florida who has made her way -- and already a name for herself -- in the rock 'n' roll scene of 1980s NYC."

Sounds about right.

The show returns for Season 2 on Oct. 25. But still no word on a Charlotte, Miranda or Mr. Big.
