AMC in 2011 renewed critical darling Breaking Bad for a final 16-episode season, the last eight of which will return later this year. The renewal came after prolonged negotiations with the cable network and SPT.

Cranston has won three Emmys for his role as Walter White on Breaking Bad, also collecting three Golden Globes for the part.
