Bill Maher On Charleston Church Shootings And Bernie Sanders’ Campaign

“Isn’t denying racism a form of racism?” Bill Maher asked rhetorically on last night’s show, among several choice comments in the video above. Guest panelists Joy Reid, Rep. Luiz Gutierrez and Matt Lewis also weighed in — some would say predictably, in so many words ‘right on,’ particularly regarding the continued prominence of the Confederate Flag on the South Carolina state capitol grounds and by extension in some other Dixieland state capitals and their state flags.

Earlier on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, the host welcomed Independent who’s running as a Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Maher told him in this video segment, “you’ve already got Hillary Clinton talking like Elizabeth Warren.” The tilting at windmills Sanders said “What the campaign is about, it’s a very radical idea. We’re gonna tell the truth.” To which his rival contenders would say, ‘so are we.’ But Sanders, speaking for the middle class he says he supports, asserts that “Our country belongs to all of us, not just a few billionaires.”
